Diciembre - December

FELICES FIESTAS – HAPPY HOLIDAYS

2nd grade
Students will review colors, numbers, classroom items and clothing items that the students have learned to this point. We will do coloring sheets, play bingo and do physical activities such as jumping jacks to review numbers. In addition, they will learn and use the correct pronunciation in Spanish about Holiday Celebrations in Latin American Countries. Students will complete Holiday Work sheets to ensure that the students see the similarities and also the differences between celebrations.

3rd grade
Students will review colors, numbers, places around town and animals’ names that the students have learned to date. . In addition, they will learn and use the correct pronunciation in Spanish about Holiday Celebrations in Latin American Countries. Students will complete Holiday Work sheets to ensure that the students see the similarities and also the differences between celebrations.

4th grade
Students will learn and use the correct pronunciation in Spanish of clothing items such as skirt, shoes, shorts, belt, coat, socks, dress and boots. Students will complete a word search in Spanish with the names of these items

5th grade
Students will learn and use the correct pronunciation in Spanish about household items such as lamps, oven, bed, table, refrigerator, and dresser. Students will explain what items they have in their house and describe them by using a bi-lingual dictionary.

Students will have a quiz on household items Friday on 12-17. They will have a word bank for this quiz.

6th grade
Students will finish their work sheets with the days of the week.
They will have an oral quiz for the days of the week on Thursday 12-2

In addition, students will finish reading ¿Que tal magazine? They will complete a work sheet about their favorite things in the State of New Jersey.

Students will learn and use the correct pronunciation in Spanish for sports such as football, soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, sky and swimming. Students will express which sports are their favorites and which ones they don’t like. Students will have a group project to research a Hispanic Player and will do a presentation.

Students will present their reports on Monday 12-20

7th grade
Students will learn the days of the week including he progression between today, yesterday, the day before yesterday, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
They will have a quiz on December 2nd.

Students will learn how Spanish verbs end in either –ar –er or –ir. This form of verb is called infinitive. The first ending that we will work on is the “ar” verbs .Beber means to drink, vender means to sell, comprender means to understand. When the students use the verb in a sentence, verbs are usually conjugated with the proper ending. The ending indicates de subject pronoun. Students will start with the “ar” form

Students will have a quiz on Friday December 17th conjugating "ar" verbs following the correct progression

8th grade
