February - Febrero

8th grade: The students will continue working on the pronouns (formal, informal, singular and plural), irregular verbs To Be (ser o estar) and To have (tener).In addition, they will learn how to conjugate the “ar” verbs such as hablar- to speak, dar – to give etc, so they could create more complex sentences.

February 8th - Students that did not finish conjugating the "ar" verbs in class need to do them for homework. This homework is due the next time the class meets.

Students will have a quiz on February 25th or 26th depending on the day the class meet. The students will have to conjugate 5 “ar” verbs. This will include the usage of the proper pronouns and correct conjugation. It will be the same as the work done in class and the homework that was assigned during this month.

7th grade: The students will continue working on the pronouns (formal, informal, singular and plural), The students mastered questions such as Where do you live? What is your phone number? Do you have any brothers or sisters? And this month they will learn other questions related to school such as Which is your favorite subject?

Students will have a pronoun quiz on Friday Feb 5th or Feb 11th depending which day the class meets.

6th grade: The students will be learning about sports. After they will explain in the target language which sports they like, when do they play them and where do they play them. When they finish they will create a small composition in Spanish about their favorite sport.

5th grade: The students will be learning about antonyms. They will create sentences using the words to compare different items that they use in their daily lives. They will create sentances using the words.

4th grade: The students will be learning about the weather and the seasons. They will create sentences such as Today is sunny. (Hoy esta soleado). We will be doing crosswords and other games so they can practice these concepts in Spanish.

Students will have a study guide on Monday February 22nd. They will have a quiz on Friday February 26th to test the concepts that they have learned.

3rd grade: The students will be learning the names of clothing items. They will share in the target language the colors of the clothes that they are wearing with their classmates. As a project at the end of the month they will create a mannequin with different clothes and they will write the name of the clothes in Spanish.

2nd grade: The students will learn to count to thirty. In addition, they will start learning about the names of food in the target language. As a project at the end of the month they will create a plate with their favorite food.

1st grade: The students will learn the color song. In addition, they will learn to say which one is their favorite color in Spanish. Mi color favorito es …

January – Enero

8th grade: The students will continue working on the pronouns (formal, informal, singular and plural), irregular verbs To Be (ser o estar) and To have (tener). They will create sentences using the different verbs as well as practice asking questions using the verbs.

Students will have a quiz on Friday January 29th with sentences and questions with the To have "tener" verb. Students were given a study guide on Monday January 25th.

7th grade: The students will be learning questions such as Where do you live? What is your phone number? What do you like to do for fun? etc. This will help the students to broaden their vocabulary and to learn different regular verbs. They will learn the pronouns in the target language.

Students will have a quiz on Friday January 15th in how to tell time.

Students will have an oral quiz on Friday January 29th to answer basic questions.

6th grade: The students will be learning about action verbs such as to eat, to speak and drink, in addition they will create sentences using these verbs. Once that this area is completed we will work on verbs that express commands such as sing, cut, sit down etc. They will also start learning about sports.

5th grade: The students will be learning about sizes, shapes and colors. They will do a word search. They will also combine these new words with the color words that they had learned previously to create sentences and translate a work sheet. In addition, the will start learning about opposites.

4th grade: The students will be learning about using formal (usted) and informal (tu) pronoun “you”. This will help the students conjugating verbs in the future. They will write names of people they know and use the proper pronouns.
In addition, they will start learning about weather conditions.

3rd grade: The students will be learning how to say good morning, good afternoon, good night and some basic commands such as write, say at loud etc. We will do different activities including a crossword puzzle that will include Spanish greetings.

2nd grade: We will review clothing items and start learning about places to go in our community such as library, park etc. Students will be able to identify these places and also will create a picture of an imaginary neighborhood and label the places in the target language.

1st grade: The students will learn to count to twenty five. In addition, they will be learning family members. The goal is for them to be able to tell me in the target language how many brothers, sisters, cousins, and grandparents they have.
